I've been working out what kind of navigation and layout to use for a site I'm working on. I want to try to avoid the usual 3 column nav on the left layout. Maybe it's just me but I find that style a bit old and tired now. What kind of site layout do you prefer when viewing a site? Does anyone have any good examples of interesting, non standard layouts that don't use flash that I could take inspiration from?

I don't have any examples right now but I like right hand navigation. I'll look around and see if I can find some good examples.

I like to think out of the box, but is difficult to find a decent layout. I was considering using a flash "nav-wheel" in the top left corner, using flash for a spinning effect. Or some sort of d-html thing.
