Has anyone used them? They seem to be pretty expensive. I'm looking for and feedback you have.

Thanks!

Johnny
I've heard from some one I do business with that they are pretty effective; A friend of his uses them alot.

Thanks for the feedback. I going to have to keep doing more research before I drop the cash to register but its good to hear you know a satisfied customer. Smile

Yeah, always do a lot of research, but someone I know has used them and they thought they were pretty good.

no problems. I will always do anything that can help! It's just in my nature.
The problem with Elance is that many projects allow freelancers to see every bid that has been placed. As a result, there is constant undercutting of prices until the project is no longer worth your time.

Elance also has a confusing project acceptance / billing method.

However, Elance does post a lot of projects (roughly 20 per day), so it's worth the 11 bucks a month.

Guru, however, is still the better site in my opinion.

I needed some really low end, time consuming work done, so I hired someone through elance. It was fine, but that isn't how I sell my services. (It is one way to make a quick buck, but in general I stay away from it because I like to earn a living wage!)

I use forums, word of mouth, directories like FreelanceLocalTech and Google PPC to get new business.

Google can get pricey though, so you have to be pretty serious about your freelancing to do it and monitor it heavily.
