Today I had a client ask me if I could please use web safe colors in their design. Shocked I guess I could come up with something that uses that color range but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone has done anything with only web safe colors?

Thanks for the feedback!

Johnny
Forget them.
Web safe colors are no longer of any importance, as all the browsers being currently in use support 16M color display.
He must have read this "advice" in an article from 90's or saw this posted by web design "gurus" on a professional site with hundreds of animated GIFs and... web safe colors Very Happy

I am sooo with you. I tried to explain web safe colors are no longer needed and even gave them a few different website's that explained the same. I'm still in the design phase of the project so maybe I can still talk them out of it. If not I'm sure I can do something. Just hate to sacrifice quality.

Thank you for the feedback!

Well, you cannot teach me to use them since I pick what I find looks good and never look for the "web safe" option. Of course that means sometimes different monitors show my layouts with some colour differences, but well, mostly they're OK ..
^Even "web safe" colors will look different on different monitors Smile These colors have nothing to do with it (color profiles and settings are responsible for this).
I would agree. Everything is a web safe color now.
