Pluses of Freelancing

Freedom to choose your projects
You can make decisions without having to wait for approval from your boss. You can take projects into the direction that you want.

Flexible schedule and work hours that you can accommodate to your family’s schedule.

Location, Location, Location.

Minuses of Freelancing:

Uncertainty of work and income

You are solely responsible for your own failures. Freelancers also need to work with clients and clients are similar to a boss in that you need to listen to their direction.

Friends and Family often don’t see your freelance business as a ‘real’ job and interrupt you often.

On average, freelancers have to work longer hours and work even on the weekends.
I agree that they don't see it as a 'real' job. However, in my case, I don't think I get interrupted often. How about you?
For me, interruptions is a given and I try to cope with it by treating it as a break and a welcomed distraction. For really tight deadlines, I either work very late or very early hours.
For freelance jobs, I don't think I ever woke up early to do something. I did it while in University to finish up some homeworks though. LOL.
