What motivated you to learn programming?

I wanted to make games so I that made me want to learn how to program.
I wanted to start to build websites. Then moved on to games. In general, computers have always peaked my interest.
I started working in the computer hardware industry then moved to the software side.

Speaking of hardware programming, I've heard that it's easier than software programming. Is it true?
