Do you run an over clocked CPU? I have an AMD 2200 I was thinking of over clocking. In the past I have been able to get 25-75 extra megahertz out of my CPU and still have windows run stabile.

I am seriously considering this, however I want everything nice and stable. Suppose you can't have the best of both worlds Sad
if your an expert OCer you can have best of both worlds!

As for me, nope. I don't Overclock
Ah now we talkin my subject, OC it thats what I say..lol I havent done it much lately but back in the XP day, that was fun, AMD was always the best overclocker for me except i did have a p4 2.4c that would do close to 3.0ghz, had an old 1700+ that did close to 2.0 ghz. and the varton 2500+'s were good Ocer's as well.

Yep, I have a buddy here in town that has his AMD 2200 over clocked to a 2500. He runs Windows XP without a problem. He had to add an extra PC fan in his case but from I remember that was about it.

About right when I had the barton it would fly but heat was a problem, and extra fans it just laughed at so had to go with watercooling..

WOW Shocked

Water-cooled, thats pretty cool.

I'm not sure of overclocking, may there will be a side-effects, i don't know just my opinion.

Yeah, if you are not careful you can do damage to your CPU and make your OS unstable.

I overclocked the CPU of my old computer, so if something went wrong I wouldn't lose anything. It was 1.7ghz and I overclocked it to about 1.9ghz.
I overclocked my 2500 back in the day. It isn't hard and runs quite stable. Although it really isn't worth it for what you get out of it. It voids all warentees!
