Tip 1
Establish your office. If there is going to be any type of distractions during the time you are working (wife at home, kids, etc) it would be ideal if your office had a door.

Tip 2
Establish your core work hours. During core working hours you should do nothing more than work on your business. Remember for every 5 hours work take a 30 minute to 1 hour break.

Tip 3
Get a PO Box. Give your PO box address out for mail that is not important.

Tip 4
Keep track of your business expenses. There are a lot of different types of software (both desktop and web based) that you can use to help you with this.

Tip 5
Get help when you need it. Remember that you are one person and if you take on a project that is more than one person can handle. Get help.
I am very bad when it comes to tip 5. Smile
Regarding tip 3, I do not think that a PO Box increase your credibility. Some people are very suspicious of a PO Box address and may not engage you just because of that.

I see what you are saying but I think for mail that is not Customer related its ok.

I think your address should only be given on a rare occasion. Maybe setup a online contact form first to see if the situation can be solved just by exchanging emails rather than sending mails.

I'd still use the PO Box tip in this case.
