It looks like PayPal has been having some pretty big problems with their subscription service. From this post on the PayPal Developer Community

I was reading about the problems. From what I understand, PayPal has fixed the problems. I bet they have a lot of mad customers.
ya, it's true. sometime customer have problems with paypal, but most of the time, it's the cheapest one and safest one, there are always risks and problems associated with online merchants(banks, paypal, checkout etc)
I've been using PayPal for over two years now and fortunately have never ran into a problem. While I know there are other sites out there, PayPal seems to be the prefered choice of most of the companies I deal with.
