I was reading that Dell is going to start selling Ubuntu Linux systems... I'm not sure I agree with Dell's choice of Linux. Its already hard to find drivers for Linux for Laptops and newer machines... I think that Redhat would have been a better choice. Linux on the desktop IMO still has a long way to go. I'm just wondering how many people are going to buy a Linux system because it is cheaper than Windows and then find out that Linux on the desktop is not what they expected... Don't get me wrong, I think Linux is a great server OS and a good OS for someone that already knows how to use Linux for desktop applications.. But to start selling it to the average Joe, I'm not sure that is a good idea. I sure hope that Dell makes sure that they explain the difference between Linux and Windows.
