I want to share some of the success I've had with one of my websites. It's a site directed toward children that I introduced on an online game. It's not complicated. It's actually very simple, and it's been really successful!

To sum it up, I created some egg graphics in photoshop, colored them, ran them through animation shop to make them shake, and put them on my site with the HTML code for others to put them on their profiles/signatures/websites. In the HTML, I included a link back to my site.

After a couple weeks, I draw up something critter-y in photoshop, replace the graphic, and the egg has "hatched." I just color up a new batch and add them to the site.

I put one of the eggs in my signature on just the one online game for a few weeks. That's it. It's been several months, and I have not advertised the site.

My pageviews (all of the pages on my site combined):
April: 215,913
May: 569,207
June: 430,617

There are negative sides to using this strategy, I'm sure, but I'm making quite a bit more than I expected off of google adsense. I'm thinking about spiffying up the site a bit and selling my own banner ad spots, since the traffic is so good.

I have yet to attempt to unleash them upon Myspace. Twisted Evil
Congrats Kates. wav
WOW!

That is amazing! Because I know what it takes to get traffic to a site I have to say you are a genius! NO advertising and just a little foot work to get that type of page views is very impressive. I love the approach you used to get the product out to the public. I think your site is so success because you are getting a lot of that good old word of mouth advertising. That type of advertising is the BEST there is. Nothing can touch it! So, are you going to share the link to the site with us? Smile

It's very basic, just a plain old template from the host and 1 or 2 ads on each page.
Wow, that was you that did those eggs? I've been seeing them everywhere. Great idea you had. Smile
You've seen them? lol!

Nice looking site!

I have to say... I have seen them all over the place, on some of the biggest forums out there. (giveupalready.com for example.)

I never knew that the creator was right under out noses!

I'm a long time member at ProBoards.com Support, and for awhile, it seemed like everyone had them.
