It looks like clear seas ahead for the latest 'Pirates of the Caribbean' film.
'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest' swashbuckled more than $132 million in ticket sales, climbing the rigging to the weekend's No. 1 spot.
"Pirates" surpassed by $17 million the record for weekend sales set by 'Spider-Man' in 2002.
'Superman Returns' plummeted to $21.8 million in its second weekend for the No. 2 spot, but still amassed $260 million in U.S. sales since its release, Box Office Mojo reported.
'The Devil Wears Prada' was a respectable third in its second weekend with $15.6 million; 'Click' fourth with $12 million.
No. 5 was 'Cars' with $10.3 million; 'Nacho Libre' No. 6 with nearly $3.34 million.
'The Lake House' was No. 7 with $2.84 million; 'The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift' No. 8 with $2.48 million, and 'Waist Deep' No. 9 with $1.86 million.
'The Break-Up' rounded out the Top 10 with more than $1.64 million in sales.
I think that's awesome personally, now, it just needs to knock that god awful horrible movie the Titantic out of number 1 for highest grossing movie ever.
