What was your first freelance project?

I made a website for a person because she needed someone to help her make an art portfolio website.

I made a website as well. It was for an organization around here.

Well, my first freelance project wasn't a success. I was to build a website for a small business in town but things went off the rails as the client repeatedly changed the scope of the project almost every week and wasn't willing to revise the price. I had to cancel it as the amount of work necessary wasn't going to be worth the already low price I was charging.

We all have projects like that! I have had problems with it too. Mostly it is family that is the hardest to please.

Well, i guess for everybody it's the same. There should be a rule saying : Never work for friends, or friends of friends....
The first freelance real experience i guess is when you find a client who select you for your work and then it can be professional !

My first job was a giant drawing of a tree, that I did for a museum I was employed at as a photographer, but they learned I could draw and I got the job in addition to my regular work. When I did it I wasn't really thinking about being a freelancer at all, it was just some extra cash on the side.

Wow, sorry to hear about that. I try to keep the code until the customer makes payment. Were you not able to do that?

my first freelance work was an article site, these sites are many... I dont know if I can post them here. Some forums do not allow to do so.

Anyway, after article sites, I made a classBook site where registered school, teachers and students can create community, see their grades, post assignments and announcements, send PM on their colleagues and a lot more functions.

Right now, I am looking for another freelance job. Can anyone help me find one? Thanks.

My first job was a writing project, through a job search site, not too be mentioned by name here.
It went very well, I think the customer had bad experience earlier, so I was a blessing, I guess

My first freelance work was article writing. It didn't pay that well but it was a good start and helped me to build my total writing portfolio.
