Hello

At the begining I apologise for off-topic.

I can buy legal version of Windows Vista for a very cheap price, and I need to make a decision very fast.

As we all know there are couple Windows Vista versions.
There is: Ultimate Version which is the most expensive product, Home Premium, Home Basic, Business and Enterprise.

I will write in short what for I use my computer.
Mostly entertainment: playing games, watching movies, online TVs, browsing the net, music listening.

My computers configuration is:
Processor: Core 2 Duo 6600 - not yet overclocked, but I will try later (by the way: which cooler would you recommend ? no water-cooling !)
Ram: 2x OCZ 1GB 800Mhz
Graphics card: Asus GeForce 8800 GTX (unfortunately just one, not SLI)
Motherboard: Asus P5W DH Deluxe (by the way: on the box there is ATI Crossfire technology logo, but is it possible to plug into this motherboard to Nvidia Cards for SLI system ? Or maybe its possible to two video cards only from ATI? )
Harddrives: 2x Seagate 250GB 7200.10 16MB Cache
Monitor: Dell 2405FPW

Please help me!
Best regards,

Tom Bobek

if that is all you use your computer for then you can go with one of the cheaper versions.

If you do any development on your PC and need IIS you will have to go for a more advanced version
Home Premium is the way to go. Business/Enterprise you don't need the corporate features in there. Basic is useless, and Ultimate is only worth it if you need all the crazy security/backup stuff they bundle. Premium will give you all the most useful goodies, including all the media stuff.
I agree with night_day that you should buy the Home Premium version of Vista. However, you could also choose the Home Basic version in my opinion based on the type of activities that you will be doing as you outlined above.
You have the pc Power to run Ultimate, you can get it @ a good Price, and I would go the Vista Ultimate.
It’s what I use its fine, with all your standard needs.
If you later down the track get the urge to take up Web designing,Graphicalwork, or take up video editing, or other extensive multimedia functions, and or any business transactions that require more security over the network, ultimate is the one for you. It’s all there for you.

Try this first . http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/detai...laylang=en

It helped me deside.
I would save your money and stick with XP. Vista still has a lot of bugs and driver issues. Give it at least another year to get the bugs worked out. It will save you a lot of headaches.
