Hello to everyone out there. I am writing this article as a freelancer myself. Last year I started my own web design business with some friends from my school. At the time I was 20 years old and a sophomore in college. I had all the talent for web design and was starting to make some money off of family friends. I soon realized, with suggestions from others, that I should go out there and start freelancing my abilities.

Many people will convince you that starting your own business is either very easy or very hard. One will tell you that they have succeeded and there is no risk in it. Others will tell you that you could quit a great job and lose your entire savings. What I started doing was keeping my job and doing my freelancing on the side. I can program very well, but my designing is quite poor. I then took out ads in freelancing forums for designers. After just a few months we have made a couple thousand dollars and are never slow with business.

If anyone wants any tips on what they could do to help their freelancing business feel free to pm me. Also, if you are in need of a website for a good price, let me know. I know how hard it is to get a good website started.
Very good information. The only thing I would add is to make sure to check your current jobs rules on side/freelance work. I know of a few people who found that they could not take on certain projects because it would be a conflict of interest.

That is a very good point I forgot. Thanks for mentioning it.
