Found this pretty nice article on Freelance Photography. It doesn't have a lot of detail but the information it does have is pretty good.

I like that article too. The points seems obvious though but maybe because I have experience on freelancing (not particularly on photography).

I think the article should have added that photographers should provide free services as a start so they can add something to their portfolio.
