I signed up for Rent-A-Coder a couple of months ago, but have only seen a few projects worth bidding on.

Anyone here have bidding site success story?

I've tried these sites but I think it's very hard to win bids if you don't have a reputation. Therefore, if you see some small sites that continues to grow, jump on it while there's only a few freelancers to compete with.

if you want to get success on elance website, at first you should be skillend enough for projects you bid, secondly your bid to be minumum since you have zero reviews. So it is just difficuly to start, but after you accomplish few project and got positive reviews, the life become easier, and you would have more and more projects...

Once you learn some basic strategies for the freelance websites, competing there isn't that hard...
But learning it usually takes some time and many freelancers just give up.
