how much would you have in your advertising budget? Could you start off with zero and just work really hard?

If you start off with zero then I can assure you will be working very hard. There are places were you can advertise for free but I would make sure you check them out good. I think you should have a budget of some kind.

I don't ever advertise. I just use word of mouth and good ol' link exchanges.

I don't advertise either, costs too much moeny that I can't afford being a student.

There are a few places you can get some traffic for free.

That is just one. They are ok but you really need a good ad and catchy webpage because visitors don't stay on your site very long.

Trafficswarm just brings you trafic, but nothing more. All the people that use it are site owners and they are visiting other sites through it just to make their site have more traffic.
